554 mail from *.* refused, see RBL server rbl.btconnect.com

Cannot send any mail due to the above. Also says "sending reporting error (0x800CCC6F) your outgoing (SMTP) email server has reported an internal error.

 

I have three btconnect.com email accounts and this happens on them all.

 

Can somebody help?

Sorry for taking a little time to reply, Hillsey54.  The error indicates that you are restricted for some reason.  My recommendation is that you Contact Us there may be issues which we'd need to escalate.

 

You should still be able to, in the interim, send mail using our webmail service:

https://myoffice.bt.com

https://email.btconnect.com

I've got a new error today.

 

Task ....receiving reported error (0x800CCC0F) : "The connection to the server was interrupted. 

 

Cannot establish SSL with POP server. SSL connect error 10054

Cannot receive mail due to the above. Any ideas anyone?

 

My web access is fine so I know the account is OK.

The settings in your mail program may be incorrect, SSL should not be enabled unless you are using our new Office 365 service.  I'd recommend that you Contact Us

Now it's 550 relaying denied.

 

I'm getting so bloody fed up with this!

Did you contact the helpdesk, Hillsey and were they able to help resolve this?  If you haven't already, I'd strongly recommend that you do Contact Us  I'm sure the technical helpdesk can get your issue resolved quickly.

The trouble is that this account was set up for me by a previous employer and I don't know the security answers, therefore no help!

Problem sending emails

Hi.

I am having difficulty sending emails from my laptop computer. The problem has arisen since I came down to London to visit my aunt yesterday. I have my laptop computer with me - the same one I always use for sending emails. I use Outlook Express and my email address is mpgallagher@btconnect.com.

When I try to send an email I get the following message:

An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'pop3.btconnect.com', Server: 'smtp.btconnect.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '554 Mail from 82.35.56.38 refused, see RBL server rbl.btconnect.com', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 554, Error Number: 0x800CCC6F

I have not changed any of the email settings (they are exactly as they should be according to your page - http://btbusiness.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/27/~/outlook-express%3A-setting-up-your-email...), and I have not had this problem on previous occasions when I have come to London with my laptop.

My usual internet connection is with Plusnet. My aunt's connection is Virgin, formerly Telewest.

Any ideas?
