Hi,
I have set up a couple of email accounts that have individual alias'. Now when I log into webmail with the btconnect.com email it works fine. However, when I try to log in using the alias address i am asked to confirm my password. The problem is it doesnt accept the password for the account im trying to log into it wants the admin password.
Is this normal? I'm trying to make things simpler for my staff so that they do not get confused with two seperate addresses, but obviously I cannot supply them with the admin password every time they want to log in
many thanks for any help ![]()

Hi LukeJay,
if i understand this right and it is an "Alias" address,
then sadly you will need to give them the "Admin" password, as the only way to authenticate with BT Servers is using the BT connect account assigned under the aliases,
the BTconnect.com address is the maiilbox,
Thanks

Thanks for the reply. It is a shame you cannot log in using the alias without entering the admin password as it would have made things much more simple

Lukejay,
if you create BTconnect address (secoundary Addresses) then you can give them this username and password,
meaning they would authenticate etc on these details,
This will also mean that if they where to log into Myoffice.bt.com they wouldn't have full access they would only be able to ammend there own account
SO you would create a new btconnect address and have the allias under this,
Thanks

I think they will not require the password, because they have admin rights at their end. ![]()
