EasyBlogBuilder without the comment facility?

I have IBP hosting.

I would like to make a noticeboard facility with an RSS feed.

EasyBlogBuilder offers this facility, but by default offers anyone the option to register and make comments. Is there a way of turning off the facility for users to register themselves? The closest I have so far seen is to moderate comments and decline them all. Is there something neater?

I've had a look and I can't see any way of disabling comments. Your method seems the only solution.
