i run a couple of pram related forums and i do as a previous poster says and use phpbbplanet free forums. you do really want to activate users though as the amount of spam and porn you will get is unreal! it is really simple to do though, i am a total novice website builder and forum manager but i found it easy. much easier than building these blooming websites lol

Hi there,

I don't know of anywhere in ESW to make a forum, but you might want to try EasyBlogBuilder. It's fairly easy to set up but you will need to assign a user name to each person you want to access your forum.

Wordpress is a third-party application which I prefer. For your first forum you might want to stick wtih EasyBlogBuilder. Once you get a feel for it you might want to check out something like Wordpress, Joomla, etc.

Peter

Thanks Peter. I want to avoid having to give users access if I can. I rather think it defeats the object of what I want to achieve. I'll keep on trawling and trying to find something simple but thanks again.

If anyone else has any ideas, I'd be grateful to hear them.

Thanks again

It can't be done using ESW Pro but You can install some free forum software like phpBB fairly easily on the advanced hosting package.

This does allow anonymous users to post, however this is not recommended as you will find it is soon full of posts advertising viagra, etc. It is far more secure if you ask users to register first.

Hi there,

You could also consider using a forum hosting site and just putting a link to it on your own site. Search for free forum in google.

Thanks

Thanks all. It sounds like a hosted BB is the best bet. Pity BT don't include something simple 🙂
