Website not being picked up by any search engines

I'm pretty much at the end of my tether with BY web hosting.

I found the design interface appalling and the help a joke, so this is a last resort before scrapping the site and going somewhere else.

I've used other companies to host websites and without exception the search engines have picked them up within a week.

I've never had to submit a sitemap either - the websites are just instantly picked up when doing a search on the comapny name - or something near it.

Four weeks on and it still isn't happening.

Any suggestions before I toddle off?

Sorry, but no web hosting company has any influence over your site appearing or not appearing in a search engine. All they do is make the site available to the internet and nothing more.

When you say your site is not appearing in any search engines... well I suppose this depends on what you searched for. I found it on the front page of Google using the term "Pearce learning and development" which proves it is in at least one search engine. Maybe not for the phrases people are searching for, but it is still in there.

Getting your site ranked highly is your responsibility and there are some things you can do:

You can add keywords to every page using the EasySiteWizard Pro pencil icon

You can provide links to other sites and have them link back to you

You can update your content regularly

I would do a search for Search Engine Optimisation if I was you and see what other things you can do to get your site noticed.
