hi

I am looking at all sorts of optiions to allow me to create, modify easily my web site. Currently it is on BT server and was written in HTML code and I have not got any idea how to do anything with it and my designer has fled!! leaving me in a bit of a dilemma.. Anyway I have been told that Joomla is an excellent CMS system ideal for non programmers. I wanted to find out that if I used Joomla to design my site how then do I get these pages onto my BT domain. I do not want to move my hosting as I am happy to keep with BT? Any ideas I should consider

thanks

Hi there,

It's easy to upgrade.

Just follow these steps:

1. Log into the site - http://myoffice.bt.com
2. Click on Manage Services
3. On the right you will see a Products Purchased section, click on Viwew full product details and upgrade options.
4. On the Internet Business Pack section click on Upgrade to Advanced Web Hosting and follow the steps.

This will tehn upgrade you to the Advanced Web Hosting pack, which you can access in exactly the same way but will now allow a MySQL database to be used which will enable Joomla to be installed on the server.

To configure the database, click on the web hosting section on the manage services page of the myoffice site and then click on manage (yourdomainname).

This will take you to the BT Website Centre and you can go to Website Management to access Database Manager.

If you require further assistance please get back to me.

Thanks

Colin
