FTP Help

I recently purchased a new domain. (Over 24 hours ago)

I can't seem to get in and manage that domain and set up the ftp.

I click on manage web hosting and it only comes up with my original domain options... How do I egt in to manage my second domain?

Can I get some help please?

How come only my original domain is accessible to edit/manage.

How do I go about setting up an ftp for my second domain that I recently purchased.

I'm a bit lost here, out of my depths. I could handle the original easily. But I can't seem to find the information for my new domain.

Hi GFC,

It sounds like you are unable to manage the second domain because you only have 1 hosting pack on your account.

If you have ordered a domain without hosting you can manage the domain in terms of pointing it to a specified address, but unless you attach a web hosting pack (webspace) to it there will be no ability to upload any content, access FTP etc.

If I can assist any further please get back to me with your query and also the domain name you have ordered so I can have a look at your account and advise from there.

Hi, I am having the same problem, I have just bought the domain obconstructions.co.uk

I have not had any alerts but I can access the domain originally given by BT, any ideas to to resolve this?

Hi Sharon,

I have taken a look at your account and you only have the domain name.

In order have a website you would need to add a hosting pack to your account.

This can then be attached to your domain and then a website uploaded to the webspace which has been created.

The best way to quickly add a hosting pack to your account if you wish to do so is:

1. Login to your account at - http://myoffice.bt.com with your btconnect email address and password
2. Click on Manage Services
3. On the Products Purchased section on the right click on: View full product details and upgrade options
4. Scroll down to the Business Essentails section and click on Upgrade to internet business pack.
5. Follow the steps and this will add a basic hosting pack on to your account which can then be attached to your domain.

Once this has been ordered you can go back to the manage services page and go to the web hosting section, click on Manage Web hosting and Online Stores> and then Activate this Web Hosting Pack, set a password and this will create the ability to have a website.

Otherwise, if you do not wish to order web hosting from BT, you will need some form of web hosting and if you obtain this from a 3rd party you will need to point the domain to that service.
