Uploading Different File Types to My Free Webspace

I've been uploading files to my free webspace for some time now, mainly .gif etc.

I have now uploaded a file that is .psdata (this is for a PC based oscilloscope) when I try to view the file on-line it should open the appropriate oscilloscope program then download the file to it, but it doesn't work.

Does anyone know if this is possible and how to do it?

Found it!

I'm not sure how this works, but it does. . . . .

1. Open Notepad or any other text editor.

2. Type the following AddType application/octet-stream .psdata

3. Go to Save As, and put “.htaccess" (including the quotes) for the filename, all files, ANSI

4. Upload this file to the same directory as the .psdata file.

5. Don’t forget to clear your browsing data before you try the link.
