Second web site.

I have advanced hosting and three domain names with BT. I already have assurering.com up and running can someone help me with how to get my other site assurering.org.uk going? I guess I'm missing a brain cell but I cannot suss out how to do it.

Hi Tone,

What you can is get a web split setup, this allows you to have more that one website on your hosting account, to get this setup if you go to here and click on DNS web splitting, our domain name team will set this split up for you.

many thanks for your reply which was really very helpful. in this instance I've sussed that another account will be the best so I've done that.But for my next project I will be going the route that you suggest.

Web splitting is no longer available and hasn't been since around 2007 when BT moved to the current hosting platform. Not sure why there is still a form for web splitting, but it is definately not an option any more.

Nor is the web publishing pack that the form mentions that is required!

The only thing you can do is add a second hosting package to the account.

To clear up any confusion caused by my previous post, I have been informed that the web splitting that was mentioned refers to URL or frame forwarding the second domain to a folder contained in the existing webspace.

Please be aware that this will still show the "true" domain (ie the primary) when hovering over links, etc but would be one way to do it.
