mysql connection issue

Hi Guys,

I have a modx rev site that connects to a mysql database and have been getting the following error messages (there are many all the same but accessing different resources:

[2011-06-29 07:35:31] (ERROR in xPDO::connect @ /services3/webpages/c/o/mysite.co.uk/public/core/xpdo/xpdo.class.php : 344) SQLSTATE[HY000] [2005] Unknown MySQL server host 'sql5c30a.carrierzone.com' (2)[2011-06-29 07:35:31] (ERROR @ /connectors/security/access/index.php) Error preparing statement for query: SELECT `modSession`.`id` AS `modSession_id`, `modSession`.`access` AS `modSession_access`, `modSession`.`data` AS `modSession_data` FROM `modx_session` AS `modSession` WHERE `modSession`.`id` = ? - Array( [0] => 00000)

Please note it does connect to the database but the randomly gets disconnected, is this a host/server problem?

Seems MySQL is being very intermittent over the past week or so. My site has also been suffering from drops and 'can't connects' and timeouts.

Took about 4 goes to get to my own homepage a few minutes ago.

Was looking for anyway to contact webhosting team but ended up here 😕

Makes me feel a little better...altho would like to here from actual bt that there is a problem or at the very least re-start the server lol

I have spent many hours trying to sort the problem out

me too, logged on here just to see if anyone else was having issues connecting to MySQL...

getting the following error intermittently....

ERROR: dbConnect() unable to connect to database server "sql5c30a.carrierzone.com"
MySQL error 2005 - Unknown MySQL server host 'sql5c30a.carrierzone.com' (2)

Defo the bt server issue, I have setup the exact database on a different host and all working fine no disconnections. I've got a call back from bt tomorrow will let them know, hopefully they will fix the issue (fingers crossed)
