Domain fails without www - what are the correct DNS settings?

My domain is hosted by BT and points at their webspace. But when visiting the domain without www prefix, e.g. domain.com/site.html rather than www.domain.com/site.html, the domain does not resolve and the browser displays an error page.

In advanced dns manager, the following records are in place:

Awww209.235.144.9

but i cannot permanently add a new A record for * or @, which i have in place on other domains which work. when i add the record, i receive an email saying the changes have been made but then when i revisit the domain manager, the changes have disappeared.

Hi a2d,

I would advise emailing our Domain name team to get them to check the domain name setting. You can contact them by going to www.dnsforms.co.uk and click general enquiry.
