Rant_mode=1

Just wondering if there's really any reason to believe the Control Panel "server status" app. According to it, the server my site is hosted on is in "wonderful" condition.

Okay.

Except I can't connect to anything having to do with my domain.

I have run trace-routes from two of my own home computers, another one at work and several from various online IP tool sites that all time out after reaching Las Vegas.

In the recent past I've come to expect server outages on the hot summer days in Vegas (my wife thinks I'm looking for a good time to visit Vegas, since I check the weather online for Vegas more than I do for my own home.) My expectations are usually met, too. Outages whenever it's hot in Vegas. Well, today it's not hot, under 90 by a good margin. In fact there's rain in the Vegas area.

Still... server outage. The semi-frequent, nearly expected server outages are getting quite annoying.

Yes, I've submitted a ticket via the HelpDesk. And I'm sure the L.P. techs know more about this outage ocurrance than I, by far. I'm still quite upset over the outage... Naturally I was right in the middle of transferring a new set of WordPress files when the connection died. So I get to go through and clean all that stuff up and re-upload everything. Meanwhile I'm wasting time waiting for the domain to come back up instead of ... aw screw it. Why would I need customers or friends to visit my web site when I've got neighbors and cold beer??

Rant_mode=0

_______

Orthohin
