PHTML

I have not had occasion to login to my hosted website, which used to be rather straight forward. However I notice now instead of all my files being simply loaded into the public folder online, there is an index file which is labelled phtml type and the jpegs are loaded into a subfolder.

Could anyone please explain to me the changes and the meaning of phtml.

Incidentally the website still continues to function normally but I am concerned to make any changes until I understand the changes in the web language.

The phtml file type basically denotes a bog standard .php file and is used by developers to easily identify between those scripts that produce an output on screen as HTML and those that work unseen in the background. In your case the file index.phtml probably belongs to a pre-made template or Content Management System and can be safely tweeked.

I found this when logging into my free space - so it would appear, as I suspected, that my web site which is still functioning well, is not hosted from this site. Now I have to find out where the hell that is. I have tried inputting the host/username and password as suggested in the web help area, without success. I will keep on trying.

Thanks.

bigpond
