I have successfully installed several Joomla web sites with other hosting comapnies.

My client is insisting that I use BT for their hosting.

I note that in these forums BT Moderators claim the the BT advanced hosting is compatible with Joomla 3.

I have set up the MySQL server and installed Joomla on the BT web space.

When I log in as administrator and try to save any changes I get the following MySQL error:

SQL=LOCK TABLES `m9xs5_assets` WRITE

The changes are not committed to the database.

It seems to me that the BT MySQL users are not allowed "LOCK" privilege and there seems no way in which I can modify the MySQL user privileges on the BT hosting system.

I have tried using a web form to ask for support - three days ago - no response yet.

I tried phoning support and got thro to a call centre who said that they would get a techie to call me back - no response yet.

I am sure that other users have experienced this problem when trying to install Joomla - has anyone managed to successfully install a fully functioning version of Joomla on the BT Hosting web space and if so how did they achieve it?
