First of all, although I'm generally happy with BT's business services, the website has to be the very worst I've come across, ever! It's out of date, logs you out at random, gets confused between consumer and business... It's a complete mess.

Anyway, my current problem is that I'm trying to utilise Office 365 licenses I have purchased from BT. To do so, I have to either host a domain with BT or a 3rd party. I already have several domains hosted with hover.com (who are excellent) and so I opted to smarthost my domain to use with Office 365. To do this I need to use the BT control panel (Manage services -> Domains -> Use an externally hosted domain with BT Email or Web hosting).

Imagine my horror when I am told that .me is not a valid domain. Not only that, but by trial and error, I discovered lots and lots of TLDs are apparently not valid? Huh? So I figured I would find what domains BT thinks are valid... can I find that information anywhere on the website? No, nowhere! To say I'm frustrated would be an understatement.

Anyway... does anyone know if/how I can use my .me domain with BT supplied Office 365 licenses?

Hi mpkayeuk,

Sorry to hear of these issues.

It is true although the domain is a valid domain our systems do not recgonise it as a valid domain, we have raised this issue in the past without success.

In this case, please can you use the General dns enquiry form at www.dnsforms.co.uk and in the text mark this for my attention and I will certainly look into this.

Kind Regards,
