Dear All,

I am developing a website and have hosting elsewhere for it. I already have a domain name set-up on BT Business, email up and running and so on. I do not want to move the nameservers as I cannot afford any down time, changing settings or losing any emails.

What I want to do is to change the rel. DNS entries to point to the new web site, just the www/ftp, all the email and other services to stay with BT.

Looking at the advanced DNS page can you confirm all I need to change are:

A : WWW : New IP

A: @ : New IP

I know I don't touch the MX records or anything else, but what about these two entries (below) I assume I don't need to touch:

A: FTP : IP - this is greyed out

A: * : IP

Regards,

Nick

Hi nickbits

you are probably best to change

A records for

www

@

FTP

* is a wildcard entry so doesn't really need to be changed
