Hi All

Can anyone help. We are trying to set up a specific type of smart divert. What we would like is for an answer machine to answer saying the office is closed but in an emergency they can 'press the hash key' or something similar. Following this the call would then be diverted by smart divert. However we would also like to switch off the smart divert or change the divert location number remotely. Is this possible and what equipment /services would we need. We just have a standard tone dial phone on a PSTN line. Can anyone help?

Regards

Graham

Hi Graham,

Assuming you are on a single PSTN line, you could have Call Minder / BT Answer / answering machine on the line then use Smart Divert (Remote Control of Call Diversion) to invoke immediate call diversion to another location in the event of an emergency.

If it is a multi line group you could only have an answering machine on the first line of the group. Featureline has similar options available.

Hope you find this information helpful.

Forum Moderator,

Alun
