If you are only receiving faxes why not just use a free fax to email service? no ink, paper etc costs and cuts down on all the crap faxes you get.

we use an analogue line off the pabx to send but receiving is 1 per user to their email account. much easier.

panatel cleared up the additional line query.

i would like to have more lines on the same number(you used to see companies give their number and then say xx lines). Is this what is called auxillary lines? How do I arrange and what do I ask for?

Also is there sometning which will automatically pick up a fax call and divert to fax on same number. I have a BT landline and B/Band is supplied by another company via BT Wholesale. If what I required was possible would B/Band still be OK.

My line is residential so would I have to change it to a Business Line.

Help and advice appreciated. Thanks

Yes you need to order auxillry lines and make sure you point out that you need it to be the same number as your main number. To use a fax on the same line and have it pick up you would have to buy a small business telephone system and some systems have a feature to automatically send fax's to the fax ext point.broadband will not be affected and can run as normal. I am not sure if you need to switch to a business line to get auxilliry working ?
