topic Changing from business line to residential without new contract in Archive

We've had problems with our business phone & broadband lines for over 2 years. Finally persuaded BT to remove contract terms last week but now we have a new problem trying to move to another provider. The new provider says they cannot take over the line until BT change it to residential. BT say they can change to residential but we will be locked into contract for another 12 months. I think they'll find that pigs fly first, we've lodged a complaint but just wondered if anyone else had this experience? Another thought, surely this must be monopolisation?

Say what? This is absurd. BT should change their policy about it.
