Hi,

I am currently using a SIP account for calls from Sipgate and have a geographic number for my area. I am looking at possibly moving to BT for telephone and broadband but want to keep the number. I am wondering if I can port this number to BT as it's the same geographic area where I live ?

Thanks

Anand

Easiest thing to do, because renumbering a PSTN line always seems to be painful.

I would install a new PSTN line and broadband.

Sipgate appears to be a hosted telephony platform. So the sipgate phone will only need a broadband connection to work. THen the sipgate number will just follow the phone around. So there wont be any need to move the sipgate number to a fixed bt line.
