It is a home account - I'd have thought it would have been a simple enough operation, but no. And no amount of phone calls could rectify the initial mess up. Including a call on Weds to gain confirmation that they had now rectified the date - to then find out this morning when we had no internet that they hadn't rectified it but apparently the change order had been rejected - however no one contacted us to advise or discuss - so the first we knew was when we couldnt log on!

I've recently tried to close my account and take over my partners. I got a letter with the wrong address, wrong number to take over and the wrong date. I also got texted someones private information for a completely different account I have called 3 times - each time they claim they have sorted the problem and that all the the changes will take place as requested on 8th April. Today - the 20th March they have disconnected one of the services leaving me unable to work. There is no email address to write to to complain on the website - or if there is, it is well hidden!!

No one at BT apparently knows what has happened and they can't reinstall until Monday as they don't work weekends. It is a joke - if I worked like that I wouldnt have a job.

I am absolutely disgusted at their lack of service - if there was a way of not using them I would close the account like a shot

is it a business or home accounts that you are trying to close/takeover from your partner?
