Hi LadyHardware,

There's a few things that can cause this, but the main confusion with the old platform depends on which broadband you are using.

On any connection the outbound server should be:

smtp.btconnect.com port 25

SSL:off

If you are on a BT line if you are using outlook go to - tools - email accounts - change - more settings - outgoing server and make sure the outgoing authentication is turned off.

If you are on a 3rd party broadband connection go to - tools - email accounts - change - more settings - outgoing server and make sure the outgoing authentication is turned on, with the option use same settings as incoming mail server selected.

If you are on a 3rd party broadband connection, please also ensure your ISP does not block port 25.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi

I have 2 email business accounts. 1 has the office 365 and is working fine.

An older one which I keep for personal email has not yet migrated.

I keep getting an error on send/receive '550 not permitted'

I receive emails OK - but have to log on to BT email to reply!

This started last weekend.

We have tried all help files, tried changing settings, nothing has worked. Even the desktop help is failing.

Is this a known issue?

Fortunately do need to reply often - Its just a bit of a pain in the rear!
