Transferring existing phone number to my name

hi i am going to buy a business .. previous owner would like to transfer existing bt line to my account. i think this process does not need a engineer.. i am worried if existing line is disconnected, card machine also will be disconnected. Can you help me how long will take just for transferring to my name.??.thanks

Hi,

Not sure how that one would work. In theory you could move the whole account, but it depends on what else they've got on it.

I would contact Billing on 0845 600 7020 in the first instance to find out what would be needed to make the transfer.

You might have to consider ceasing and re-ordering it in your own name, but they'd be able to tell you more.
