Windows Live Mail and Work Email

Hi. I use live mail for my work email and was previously with Orange and just changed to BT. I need to know the outgoing server settings, whether SSL is required etc. I assume that my incoming server (my work server) just stays the same as the account is still receiving emails, just won't send.

Hi Phingers,

It sounds like you need mail relay set up. If this is a personally owned domain such as phingers.com then we can certainly do this for you an allow you to use the mail relay server to send through BT. If this is the domain of a different service provider such as @provider.com then we cannot open mail relay for you. This is because if we did do this any spammer with an @provider.com email address would be able to send through our server.

If this is a personal domain please contact us and we will do the rest for you.

Hi. On Orange, I just had to have my outgoing smtp server set to smtp.orangehome.co.uk. I rely on live mail as it has all my work email folders within it. Is ther no way of just changing it to a BT smtp server?

im afraid not as if we opened a mail relay for orange accounts any one with an orange account would be able to spam through BTs servers.
