I see that it is possible for a 3-way call between 3 people (obviously)

However, in our company there are 4 of us, is there a way to conference all of us in. You see we may all be working from home and would like all of us to catch up on our days activities.

Secondly is there a conference facility to have more than 3 way conversations? or is this another product/service we need to purchase?

Thanks

Hi sean2008,

I should mention we do have some kind of conference facility already with BT, but we have found this to be very expensive to use, you dial a specific number and enter your pin, specify your name and in you go. We only use this facility once or twice a month and it does cost us a lot of money for what is a few minutes call in conference, i believe we are charged per minute for this.

I was just wondering if using IP phones this is available and cheaper? Especially as we will be all on IP phones.

Kind regards,

Steve

Hi Steve,

3 way calling is the current limit for SIP phones such as the BT Falcon. This is not intended to provide a full conferencing service, so much as giving the option to transfer and bridge calls whilst using a single phone.

I would recommend exploring the range of Conferencing products that BT offers, as there may be another that better suits your needs.

Minicheddar

Hey there!

there is another option. i have to warn you, it's not as easy or eloquent as 'meetme'!

if you may a 3 way call from one falcon phone to another, then 'add' another person using the second falcon, you can continously grow the size of your call, one at a time.

disadvantages are that you need lots of falcon phones and a degree of coordination to make it work. plus i can't say i've tried it beyond 4/5 people.

but hey, it's free, right?

Hi,

I see, yes that certainly is a way around. I was waiting on BT to get back to us whilst I put this message here on the Forum, the BT guy said that you would have to dial the number, put on hold, press Call 1 ( which gives a dial tone ) , then the new number, press Bridge on the Falcon IP phone, and you have a 3-way call. Then as you quite rightly said, use the 2nd phone to do the same thing again which gives you 4 people. I think 4 phone lines on a conference call is more than enough.

Thanks for your confirmation that it is possible.

Steve
