BT Versatility Broadband Plus module - Remote V-IP phone and static IP address requirement

We aim to use remote V-IP phones in conjunction with the BT Versatility Broadband Plus module.

Whilst the remote phones require an IP address for the Broadband Plus module, how should

the Broadband Plus module be configured for this purpose?

We have a new analogue business line and BT broadband service with five static IP addresses.

The Broadband Plus module has V189 firmware.

We are not using any other modem or router.

The product handbook does not include a detailed explanation for this purpose, and the set up

screens do not appear to accommodate our needs well.

Also, the business broadband technical support personnel are unaware of how this should be done.

We note the previous extensive comments in the forums about the use of BT static IP addresses.

What are the practicable options for our requirements? Is it necessary to use a single BT static

IP address?

Hi Ihesketh,

It is possible to configure remote IP extensions on a Broadband Module PLUS with multiple static IP addresses.

One way is to change the voip interface to the IPDMZ setting and change the DMZ IP address to allocated Gateway IP address and Subnet.

NAT to the DMZ must be turned off.

You can call the BT Versatility Advice line for more information provided you have a valid BT maintenance contract.
