Hi I have a BT270HGV Router for my business and an Ingenico 5100 credit card terminal.

The terminal worked fine for a short while before coming up with error code 3 (Time Out)

I have spoken to the help desk at Ingenico and have been told the following.

a) Check DHCP is enabled on Network Router.

b) Check Network Router supports “10 base T half-duplex” operation.

c) Check Network must allow outbound Internet access.

d) Check Network has no blocking on outbound ports.

e) Check If MAC address blocking is in use, and if so, the terminal MAC must be on the permitted list on the Network Router.

I have also been advised that Ingenico Tech have advised of the below IP addresses that the terminal uses.

Streamline connection is to ssl3.tnsi.eu.com port 45239

GEMS connection is to ssl10.ingenicoaccess.com port 10000

How do I allocate these IP addresses and check the above.

a) more than likely. it is, unless YOU turn it off

b) yes

c) yes

d) it can but doesnt unless you configure that

e) its not used

"I have also been advised that Ingenico Tech have advised of the below IP addresses that the terminal uses."

Thats bullhonkey. they have told you something called a DNS name not an ip address

an ip address looks like 192.168.1.100 for example.

maybe the person at ingenico that you spoke to is not exactly... up to speed?

does the terminal use a windows operating system similar to normal pcs?

Tech have advised:

No the terminal do not have a windows operation similar to a PC. The other though I'd had regarding the issues seen was the possibility of the router running out of IP addresses and not recycling them quick enough for the terminal
