Hi WWholidays

I'm sorry to say that BTOC (Bt office communicator) does not have a call transfer option only a three way calling option.

you can however transfer a call if you are using a handset that has a call transfer function or the IP phone we supply.

Call transfer does work on both bbv and Bt hosted Voip.

Regards

SC

Hi,

Is it possible to divert a call to another number during a VOIP call with BT Office Communicator?

Sometimes we would like to divert someone on the line to a landline number - is this possible with the Office Communicator software?

Thanks!

If you are talking about the ability to transfer somebody to whom you are currently talking to another line, then this is a feature called "Call Transfer"

Whilst this is a feature of BT Featureline, it's not available on either BBV or Hosted VoIP Enhanced,

Hi Sc. Can you just clarify that whilst this isn't a network feature on BBV or Hosted VoIP, it is a function on the Falcon IP handset?

Hi Chris

It is not a supported feature on BBV but it is a supported feature on hosted voip.

The Falcon 2030 has this feature but we no longer supply these handsets.

The Falcon TB30 is the new IP phones we supply and this also has the option to transfer calls which is fully supported on our Hosted Voip service.

Regards

SC

I have an older version BT Falcon VOIP phone which is plugged in to my hub for BBV and works fine for inbound/outbound calls.

Reason for spending £90 on this phone was because was BT's own phone and would enable call transfers as promoted all over the website.

Have now acquired a second BT Falcon VOIP phone (TB-30) for another £90, pre-configured to a second VOIP line I have acquired and plugged in to the same hub but am unable to transfer calls from one phone to the other.

Have tried the method in the manual, have tried the method advised by the Helpdesk and have tried the method stated on the BT website (as below) - noe of which work.

Can someone please advise how I can undertake a simple call transfer using the recommended BT IP phone as advertised or otherwise explain how I go about securing a full refund.

Thank you.

Scanners

From BT Website:

To transfer calls with the BT Falcon IP phone:

Answer the call and inform the caller that you are transferring them. Press the Transfer button.

You hear a dial tone. Dial the fixed line, mobile or short code number of the person you want to transfer the call to.

If you want to transfer the call without speaking to the person you are transferring the call to (a ‘blind’ transfer), press the Transfer button again and hang up.

If you want to speak to the person that you are transferring the call to:

Wait until the call connects and speak to the person that you are transferring the call to.

When you want to proceed with the transfer, press the Transfer button. This cuts you out and the other two parties can speak to each other.

On the screen of your phone, the called party number and the word HOLD are displayed. On the soft buttons underneath, UnHold and NewCall are displayed. Ignore these and hang up. The phone bleeps and presents a new range of options.

Press the EndCall button.
