Hi Ian,

The Static Range can be set up on the Business 2700 in the following way.

Access the Router settings page, by opening a Browser and typing the Routers Ip address into the Address bar (the 2wires default IP is 192.168.1.254)

From the tabs along the top choose, Settings > Broadband > link configuration,

Within Link Configuration, look for the healing down the roght side called "Public IP Address", then enter the Router IP address and Subnet mask provided by BT.

This will enable the BT network to forward to that IP the range provided to you, which are visable on the router by going to Setings > LAN >NAT and address allowcation. And can then be allowcated to the devices attached to the rotuer.

Other routers also have the ability to use a BT static range, I would suggest the mimimum spec to be an ADSL2+ router. (please refer to the supplier for instructions on static set up)

I hope this helps 🙂

(also if you get stuck, BT offers a IT service in the form of ITSupportManager which although chargeable, would be able to set this up for you.)http://business.bt.com/it-solutions/it-support/it-support-manager-for-pcs/

Good luck

Hi,

Quick Question... We have a range of static IP addresses. How do I configure the 2WIRE to use one of the static addresses?

I spoke to someone at BT to try and get the correct Subnet Mask and Gateway addresses but I was told that we either need to downgrade our account so we only have one static IP address or that we should get another Router...

Apparently they don't support Manual IP configuration on the 2WIRE eventhough you do have the option...

My question is, if we need to get another Router how do I know which one supports manual IP selection/setup?

Thanks in advance,

Ian

Another thought, if you dont need more than one static point of presence on the internet, you could downgrade to a single static and just port forward via the router firewall all traffic.
