Hello all,

I hope someone can help me. I have an office in the garden and one incoming line. I would like to have the ability to put the incoming call on hold, press a number to alert the home phone, then transfer the call. Or should the home phone pick-up the call first do the reverse. In addition to that I would like to use the phones as a normal intercome.

Fairly typical scenario I would have thought but I can't find any clues on the internet.....

Help!

What do I need to do and set it up?

Would two normal BT phones (Converse 1400) do the job or do I need an extra switch box of some sorts? Is this what one would call a PABX?

Message Edited by Hanno on 27-09-2009 12:59 PM

Hi

You could look into specialised phones and handsets such as the BT Diverse 2050. With phones similar to this there are two handsets associated to the base station. It allows calls to be intercepted and put on hold, then transferred to second handset. There is also an intercom facility provided as part of the feature set of the phone.

For details of phones and the specifications please see BT Shop and BT Business Shop.

Kind Regards

Fiona

BT Business Forum Moderator
