I changed from o2 to BT broadband. I have 3 PC and a printer liked to the router by cable plus on laptop and one printer on wi fi

I have a problem. All of the PC's are now running very slow or freezing. I have to clear the memory and the cache at least once a day. I have to run a registry patrol package at least once a day and it can ofetn find 30 or items that need sorting.

Outlook is a nightmare. Try to add an attachment from any of the PC and 50% of the time it freezes or runs so slow that you think its just hanging.

BT told me that the problem is with all of my PC. I definitely did not have this problem before I changed to BT. I read an article that says that the BT router is basically an empty box and all of its work is carried out by the PC. Whereas 95% of other routers do the work externally from the PC

I am thinking of returning to o2

Interesting to read you problem, I am just about to sign on the doted line for Business broadband, And i am going to be running 2 laptops. Xbox 360-PS3. And a Data munching Server. Plus a printer and various other things.

What i would say is, Do you still have the O2 router.? And did you have Static IP's on O2. Do you keep the router on all the time.? What's your line speed.? Paste results from router please, And finally whats your PC's/laptops make/models and Operating systems.? If you can provide additional details. That will help me narrow it down.

Something, I found is BT routers aren't the best. I went and bought a Belkin wifi router. Which worked just fine.

And then then i receved the BT home hub 2.0. Can't wait to stop using it.

And i will have to buy s new router for business.! ;/

Anyway, Answer my paragraph of questions, And i will be glad to help. In the meantime check your hard drive's capacity and check to see if there are any driver updates available for youe network card/Internal wifi,

Jacobb

Hi Rooftopcrow,

I have to agree with JacobB, people on the forum would need a little more information to try and narrow down what might be causing this issue. If you don't want to write down specifics in the forum then i can only suggest you contact the Business technical support to see if they can help.

Kind Regards
