Phishing or Genuine???

I have been receiving several emails as follows supposedly from BT but cannot get through to find out whether they are genuine!! DOES ANYONE KNOW????

solution - a FREE tool called Desktop Help. Your mailbox has exceeded the storage limit btconnect.com, which is 20GB as indicated by the administrator, you may not be able to send or receive new messages to re-validate your inbox and click on the link login

Hi,

Fake. Yes BT do send out emails touting Desktop Help, but everything after that is complete balls. For example -

Failure to follow these instructions will result in permanent deactivation of your account.

LOL BT may be a lot of things, but they wouldn't do something like that just because you've exceeded your storage.

The email is sent to 'Dear Broadband Customer', which is another sign of an obvious fake. BT always use their database to mail merge info into the email.

Also if you look at the link you'll see that it is www.domain.com/BT, which is not something BT would do, as the vast majority of emails and links will be www.(something.)bt.com, although I think you may see From addresses in some autiomated emails with @btcomms.com (or something like that, so don't quote me).

Appears the server herders have suspended the hosting account for mtches.com.
