I need to recover the emails after my computer crashed. Blue spark from the floppy drive! After reboot from emergency floppy Im getting no FAT and no partition error messages.
Managed to recover documents using a WXp hdd as master and the crashed W98 hdd as slave. But where are the emails hidden? I can see the 😧 drive contents clearly but there is no folder marked outlook express or anything like that.
Does anyone know where these files are hidden or are they lost forever? Thanks

Hi there,

Outlook Express files are stored as DBX files so search the drive using *.dbx as the criteria.

This page may also help

http://www.insideoe.com/files/store.htm

Thanks

Also check this s/w for recovery
http://www.oemailrecovery.com/repair-outlook-express.html

So if u can access C:\Windwos,,,,,,, then all the dbx files will be somewhere in C:\Windwos\Application Data\Identities\

In the Identities u have to look for the folder which contains dbx files, and if u get many folders with these dbx files, save them all, coz u can't know that which folder is for ur mails !!!

Hope this information will be helpful for you.
