I have a number of sites working with FTTC using the same config and the same Cisco routers although one site refuses to work.

-Zycel router works fine with BT FTTC modem

-BT FTTC modem work fines

-Cisco 887VA refuses to work on this line. Have tried 2 now.

All we get is the CD light flashing so it is not training at layer 2. This has been a cookie cutter role out so far......what am I missing? Could the particualr MSAN not support the Broadcom VDSL modem in the Cisco? Is their a specific firmware or IOS that I need to apply just to this router to get it to work with this cabinet?

-IOS = C880DATA-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 15.4(3)M4

soweyextr02#sh controller vdsl 0
Controller VDSL 0 is DOWN

Daemon Status: Establishing Link

XTU-R (DS) XTU-C (US)
Chip Vendor ID: 'BDCM' ' '
Chip Vendor Specific: 0x0000 0x0000
Chip Vendor Country: 0xB500 0x0000
Modem Vendor ID: 'CSCO' ' '
Modem Vendor Specific: 0x4602 0x0000
Modem Vendor Country: 0xB500 0x0000
Serial Number Near: FCZ1535C3VA 887VA-K9 15.4(3)M4
Serial Number Far:
Modem Version Near: 15.4(3)M4
VDSL user config flash:VA_A_39h_B_38h3_24h_j.bin

Modem FW Version: 140305_1531-4.02L.03.A2pv6C039h.d24h
Modem PHY Version: A2pv6C039h.d24h

Have you set the VLAN tag to 101? BT's VLAN ID is 101 and needs to be set on some routers, drayteks being a prime example.

Hope that helps.
