Hi rhosyn,

There are few steps to follow to do this.

Firstly, you must create your different customer groups. By default I believe there is a 'regular' and 'New Customer' group but you can add others. Anyone purchasing something for first time will automatically be assigned to 'New Customer' group. You can easily assign customers to a specific group after they're purchased something though.

Secondly, create your pricelists. E.g. 'Regular' and 'New'. Decide the vailidty period for this pricelist. if you want to make it permanent enter a date far in future.

Thirdly, decide if you wish to give a discount on the order basket i.e. the total of the basket. Navigate to 'Shopping basket Discount'. Enter a min order value, if desired, and the % discount.

Fourthly, assign the customer group 'regular' to the pricelist and provided you just want to give basket discounts your done.

If you want to give discounts on products, you'll need to setup this up on the product itself. Navigate to the product -> pricelists tab. Select the pricelist e.g. 'Regular' and decide if you wish to give a bulk or value discount. e.g. 2/5/10items = 5/10/20% discount or £5/£10/£20spend = 5/10/20% discount.

Hope it helps. I would suggest doing some tests first. e.g. Create a dummy customer group and assigning youself to it. Then login to the shop and check the discounts are working as you wanted.

Orchie
