Hi,

I want to set a discount on my website so that every order placed gets 10% off for a certain period. Anybody know how to do this?

Is coupons they way to do this?

Coupons is one way but this would require a customer to insert a coupon code to the shopping basket. Not sure how you would notify your customers of the coupon code. Maybe you could add it as a note to the shopping basket? Not a very good solution though.

Another way is to just edit your prices. If you've got lots of products then you could export to a spreadsheet and change all prices very quickly there.

Or take a look at price lists. I've never used them but this is what it says in the online help documentation - "Price lists form the basis for customer-specific pricing and discounts.".

Coupon codes should be acquired before paying for the product. A lot of customers got pissed when they got aware of the coupon after they bought the item.
