Hi Schoieuk,

I dont know how much information you know already about networking but ill be a simple as i can but if you get lost dont hesitate to reply.

Your static IP will stay registered at the HUB.

you will then need to set a static IP on your Server depending on your router configuration.

EG..

192.168.2.100

192.168.1.2

this can be done my right clicking the network connection on the bottom right(looks like a tv screen) and clicking properties then click the internet protocol (TCP/IP) in the list, then click properties.

This will give you the option to type in the IP address wich could be set to (depending on router configuration)

192.168.2.101

192.168.1.3

To provide any functionality through the server you must then port forward the following ports:

Port 25 TCP SMTP (Outgoing Exchange e-mail)
Port 80 TCP HTTP (NOT needed normally)
Port 443 TCP HTTPS (RWW, OWA, remote desktop or Terminal Server sessions)
Port 1723 TCP PPTP (VPN) If needed

The above ports will need to be opened to allow other machines to contact your server aswell as emails ect... to be allowed through to the server.

This is the basic step to alow the static IP to be forwarded to your server

if you need more advice dont hesitate to reply

Regards

Matt
