      <title>Network Fault / IP Profile</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;On Friday 10 Dec 2010 there was a BT Network Fault in 01631.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Apparently this was sorted out. However, and not for the first time, I am left with&amp;nbsp;unusable&amp;nbsp;Broadband.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I raised a Fault,&amp;nbsp;VOL011-43181825723, on Sunday evening. Today fault-tracker tells me:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;---&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Your service has now been repaired. If you are still having problems please contact us.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;DIV class="margin20"&gt;&lt;!--  LeftDiv Starts  --&gt;&lt;DIV class="newLogContent4"&gt;&lt;DIV class="leftDiv1"&gt;&lt;DIV class="cardDetails4"&gt;&lt;DIV class="wrap"&gt;Fault number: &lt;SPAN&gt;VOL011-43181825723&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;Please quote this number&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV class="wrap"&gt;Date reported: &lt;SPAN&gt;12 Dec 2010&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV class="wrap"&gt;Product affected: &lt;SPAN&gt;Broadband &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV class="wrap"&gt;Broadband line affected: &lt;SPAN&gt;01631XXXXXX&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV class="wrap"&gt;Fault symptom: &lt;SPAN&gt;Slow Connection&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV class="wrap"&gt;&lt;SPAN style="line-height: 14px;"&gt;---&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV class="wrap"&gt;&lt;SPAN style="line-height: 14px;"&gt;Yet my IP profile is set at a pointless 135Kbps, as it has been since Friday, and I am getting a whopping 84Kbps download speed:&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV class="wrap"&gt;&lt;SPAN style="line-height: 14px;"&gt;---&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV class="wrap"&gt;&lt;SPAN style="line-height: 14px;"&gt;Download speed&amp;nbsp;achieved during the test was - &lt;STRONG&gt;84 Kbps&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds&amp;nbsp;is &lt;STRONG&gt;50-250 Kbps&lt;/STRONG&gt;.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp;Additional Information:&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;Your DSL Connection Rate :&lt;STRONG&gt;3584 Kbps&lt;/STRONG&gt;(DOWN-STREAM), &lt;STRONG&gt;448 Kbps&lt;/STRONG&gt;(UP-STREAM)&lt;BR /&gt;&amp;nbsp;IP Profile for your line is - &lt;STRONG&gt;135 Kbps&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;---&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV class="wrap"&gt;&lt;SPAN style="line-height: 14px;"&gt;I can't sit in another queue on the phone and then have to convince the person at the other end that it is not a problem at my end. (In September the same thing happened. I had to explain to the person that there WAS a network problem and that the reason noone had raised a Fault was due to the 50minute queue!).&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;&lt;DIV class="wrap"&gt;Even making this forum post was a nightmare. LiveChat? ....       <description>&lt;P&gt;A second call to a &lt;U&gt;helpfull &lt;/U&gt;BT Employee tonight resulted in the fault being reopened, after he had done the same tests as yesterday and determined that there &lt;STRONG&gt;was&lt;/STRONG&gt; probably a fault at the exchange.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I think the fact that I hinted that there "&lt;EM&gt;was most likely a fault at the exchange&lt;/EM&gt;" may have helped somewhat.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;IP Profile jumped from 135kbps to 3000kbps shortly afterwards...&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;With a download speed of 2056kpbs compared to &lt;STRONG&gt;84&lt;/STRONG&gt;kbps!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks for all your answers anyway team.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
