speedtester.bt.com - is it valid for Windows 7?

I have tried on numerous occasions to run the speed tester but it just sticks at 'Checking User Details' and sits there waiting for response from 217.32.105.42. I've let it sit like that for up to 30 minutes with no result.

Is this utility valid for Windows 7 as this operating system is not listed.

I have not heard of issues - and I think there would be a lot of complaints or comments if there were. The only PC I have running on Win7 does not have an issue.

Hi JaneBroom,

The BT speedtester website should have no problems with a windows 7 computer, it could be a problem with the actual site. Have you tried going to www.speedtest.net to test the speed of your connection?

Yes, have tried thinkbroadband.com - that's ok.

Have just installed a new router and tried speedtester.bt.com again and it appears to work.
