Hi Mospuwruph,

Its very strange for the speed to Fluctuate so much Outside of the 10 Day Stabalisation Period at the start of service.

best thing to do is start Building a case of a problem by running speed tests at the BT Speed Test site, this will give them visable Indication of your Speeds, (speedtester.bt.com)

I would also check your internal Wireing,

I know at my home i had Sky plugged into the same Socket as the broadband and i was getting between 4-5 Meg, after removing i get 6-7 Meg,

so just Strip the Line completely as far as you can back to Basics then run the speed test, if it fluctuates less you may need to get a new Filter or a BT Iplate thing, (Limits electricale interferance on the line)

Hope this helps

Plumly

last week i had a broadband speed of 2064kbps when i should have at least 7000kbps, spoke to bt and they detected no fault which was payday advance loans very unhelpful cause theres obviously a fault there! anyway the speed got a bit higher in the week to 4000kbps so i thought it was levelling out. Last night the speed dropped dramatically to 250kbps! then got home tonight and its gone to 1948kbps.

what the hell is going on bt? i just phoned you guys up again and you said and i quote 'because the line hasnt dropped under 1000kbps we cant do anything to help you' . i mean come on! what kind of reply is that? not helpful at all. i pay up to 20mb speeds and you guys cant even give me 2!

Hi. How where you able to get this test results if I may ask? You can go to speedtest.net and make sure there are no active downloads on your PC.
