Yes, use the existing 2700 as the modem and interface to the DSL line exactly as you are now. Then follow the instructions in:

http://business.forums.bt.com/t5/Broadband-and-internet/BT-Business-Hub-Extending-Wireless-Range/td-p/24617

to connect another 2700 to teh existing. You can also use other routers but I cannot advise which or how to set them up.

At times I have had 5 additional 2700s running off the primary.

Just go onto ebay and search for 2700HGV - but find a New or BNIB one - typically £10 to £20 each or you may even get one cheaper.

Hi I have a BT Business Hub and I need to extend the range of the wireless signal as I have thick walls. Here's how I'm thinking; 2 x Ethernet/DC Mains plugs. One end connected to the BT Business Hub and the other connected to my new AP. Ok so I just wanted to ask, is this even possible with BT Business Hub? Is it also possible for me to extend the wireless range (if needed) further using another set of Plugs??? Also if so could you please recommend a cheap AP that would do the job?? Thank you

You could possibly increase the output power of the hub but I think the change will only be minimal.

Get an unused Business Hub off ebay ! Whilst using the power plugs to connect the two will work, my preference would be to run an ethernet connection with Cat5e from te original router to te one to be used as an AP - you can easily do 100m withoiut issue. Instructions on converting a 2700 Hub to an AP are in a "sticky" above.

Thanks for the reply. Just to be sure I'm using BT 2700HGV as the main router.

So it has the functionality to allow an AP to be configured to it (IF it is another BT Hub and connected via ethernet??? )

Am I correct to assume there are config options to enable this setup within the webpage settings of my BT HUB???

Could you recommend a specific cheap BT HUB model i cna buy that will be do the job??

I think I'm making sense of this.

Thank you

Hi Yandoo. If router LAN IP is 192.168.1.254, just set the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0.

Your hosts IP range should be 192.168.1.1-253. That's as basic as you can get. Good luck.
