I agree with Kuerten. If you will purchase an Internet connection, you can still share it as long as you have a wireless router. Just add a password to it that only you and your friends know.

Hi there,

I don't have home broadband and am considering sharing the home broadband of two people in my apartment. They said that for me to join them they'll have to upgrade. Now my question is:

1) If they're in an 18 month contract and they upgrade, will that add another 18 months to the contract or will it simply be a change of package (speed etc) and not affect the no of months left.

2) Also I only need the broadband for about three months...can they upgrade and then go back to their initial package after three months of upgrading?

3) will there be any other cost apart from the obvious change in package cost?

Many thanks!

You would be better asking that in the Home or Residential forums rather than one dedicated to BTs Business users and products.

One question to ask the others though "Why is an upgrade needed?" Most connectiosn are user number agnostic.

If you are only thinking abut sharing the internet connection, you have the option of just buying a wireless router. It also depends on how far your location is from the owner.

I dont think this needs an upgrade but you have to set this up on your own or hire someone who knows this stuff.
