Thanks for reply MHC, Yes i tested the plugs connected to router and laptop and its really fast. I can confirm that both wireless channels are the same (channel 7). Could this be the problem?

HAve you plugged the PC into te Home Plugs and tested the speed of that connection?

All my 2700s and connected directly with Cat5e cable / Ethernet and I get full wirelss speeds and no additional, noticeable latency. If I connect by Ethernet to a slave 2700 and another PC to another slave, I can acchieve near 100Mbps transfer from PC to PC.

Another thought - check your wireless channels and ensure they are 5 apart.

Get a copy of inSSIDer and that will show what channels are in use by you and neighbours and you can choose your own clear areas.

Two on te same channel can cause interference so move one to Channel 2 or 12 - just keep them 5 apart.

Also, try it with encryption turned off - briefly as occasionally that can cause issues.

The problem might be coming from the router WiFi function that is why you got your connection so slow before. Try to reset it and see if it works.

Hiya I've just got back from the pub (where I'm setting it up) and got it working!

I changed the channel on the 2nd 2700 to 12 and its seems to work fine. There is one rather large but though! I discovered that when the 2nd 2700 power plug and the homeplug are connected in the same twin mains socket(everyday household mains socket) the homeplugs stop working. There obviously some interference?

I then used 2 separate mains sockets for the homeplug and 2nd 2700 and it works.

So at the moment i would need about a 5m ethernet cable to reach the homeplug and 2nd 2700 connected to a different mains socket (which they aren't too happy about).

Any ideas how i can get the homeplugs to function as they should with the 2nd 2700 connected to the same twin mains socket?? Thanks for your help 🙂
