We had an engineer out last week, he ran the usual line tests (just like the previous 2 engineers). Reports were the line/ADSL was all ok.

He replaced the BT phone socket as we were told it was faulty.

Still having the same problems?

We have a Netgear DG834n router which is showing a download speed of 1568 kbps

However, this is not the case, speed is very slow and I have used a couple of sites to run a speed test and the results have only come in at less than 0.2 meg

I have checked cables, filters etc, any ideas ?

Thanks.

Hi AWL,

I would advise you to contact the helpdesk when you are at the installed location to allow them to run through diagnostics and to run tests on the line, as it sound like you may have a fault on the line.

Regards

Markp

BT Business Forum Moderator

Can you provide a link to your speedtest results?

If speedtest are okay, this could possibly be a browser issue. Have you tried comparing results? IE, FF and Chrome? Deleting cache on the browser might help too.

I have had the same problems since i joined them back in april. I have always been told the line test ok, and had an engineer out who said that it was the 'bell' within the sockets so changed those and BT then chraged me £150 for it. Still having the same issues if anything its worse now then ever. As soon as i can i will be leaving them and going to Virgin.
