Hi,

BT Business uses a system where the connection on a multiple static IP package will be a dynamic peer IP address. This acts as a tunnel to the network behind it.

You can only get a static IP on the connection itself if you have a single static IP.

The network bods could explain it better than me though.

Hi, I have a new installation of BT Infinity for Business with 5 static IP addresses. I have configured the BTHub3 with the "router/hub address" static IP and subnet mask of 255.255.255.248, however every time I reboot the router i keep getting a dynamic IP address which is not even an static IP assigned in any of my range of IP's.

My collegue has also tried connecting the BT modem to a Cisco PIX501 firewall configured with the 'routers static IP' provided by BT and still we're unable to obtain the allocated Static IP.

I have called BT a few times and the person at the end of the phone is unable to help or explain why Im not recieving the allocated IP to my router. Any help with this one?

Thanks

Ranjit
