Hi Chunkycat,

Some of our older routers mainly the 2wire 2700/2701 have problems downloading files over 2GB, as there is something in the routers firware that stops the download of large files.

If you contact the helpdesk they can look at this and if need be send you a new router.

I regularly download large files, anything from 200mb to 2gb. Since last week I have been unable to do so. The files appear to download ok until the last second - then the download stops.

I have rebooted the router, and both of my computers on the network - but to no avail. I have visited friends and securely logged in to the site and downloaded my data successfully - so it is not the site which I am visiting. So far I have been unable to raise this as a problem with BT because there does not seem to be a way of complaining ?

I'm aware that some BT techies monitor these forums, so hopefully, someone can give me answers to this problem. The disruption to my business is becoming a problem, so I may have to leave BT and go elsewhere - which would involve even more disruption !!

Anybody out there who can help resolve this problem ???

Hi Mark, thanks for the response.

Fact is - I have never tried to download anything over 2gb - in fact the vast majority of the files are approx 350mb. Furthermore this problem only started on monday or tuesday last week - it was working fine ever since I joined BT broadband in May 2012.
