Acer One netbook to BT infinity

Please please please can somebody help?
Acer will find wireless but will not show any web pages?
If I connect via Ethernet cable it is fine but will not do anything wireless.
I have the latest drivers installed and it works fine anywhere else apart from at home!
I have tried the bt support and it was a complete waste of time.
Thank you for looking and any help is appreciated.

Hi there Help

Here are a few things to try.

First off can you make sure you are connecting to the correct network.

The can you make sure that the connection is solid wirelessly.

If you go to the bottom right of the screen it should show you the network icon and this should say connected.

If you have tried that and that does not work then this may be a DNS issue.

Can you do me a favor and go wireless and then put this number (no www) into the address bar?

If that works then what is happening is this.

For wired and wireless you have a set of translators essentially letting you type in words which make sense to us fleshy mortals but make no sense to computers.

The translator then finds the address which makes sense to the computer and goes to that.

You can then find out how to change the DNS servers here

If this is not working then we need you to contact us try coming through the livechat as we are all 2nd line trained and will be able to solve this.
