Hello,

Just an experience which possibly isn't that uncommon but just wanted a second opinion as I'm not really getting anywhere with BT customer services and although I was advised to contact Openreach, I discovered they do not talk to EU's.

Several months ago BT Openreach Engineers dug up the side of our drive approximately 100 yards and installed Plastic Piping, installed a man hole with a bit of blue rope fed through. My understanding at the time was that they were planning FTTP which was rather exciting . Being out in the sticks a little our broadband speed is not great . After some time it became apparent that our two neighbours had recieved FTTP without any additional charge for installation. We are all connected to the Deddington Exchange which I believe was one of the first Exchange sites to become fully fibre.

Please understand I'm not complaining, I guess all I'm really looking to do is understand why they decided not to complete the job to our premises, I guess I imagibe it could be a number of things but just being told to wait and it may at some point become available is a little frustrating. Ultimately we have never had fibre so we haven't lost anything , it just strikes me as odd that if they are not going to install FFTP and I need to wait for FTTC , then why go through 2 days of labour installing the prerequisites to our premises. I guess I'm kinda hoping that they forgot and plan to return but it seems impossibe to get any answers.

Any opinions would be greatly recieved.

Thanks,

Hi Jbusby,

Thats is strange. Its possible that your neighbours are trialists on this product in your area.

It could be that they are on a consumer trial and this may not yet be available for business while we work out all the kinks.

It could be that you are served by a different communication cabinet to your neighbours which is rare but not unheard of.

I have sent you an IM to get a bit more information on this.

Thanks
