Hi, We as a business have wanted to upgrade to BT Infinity for the last year and a half. However I checked on in Feb '13 and it said in APR/MAY, then come May it changed to OCT, which come October changed to JAN, which Come January changed to MAY which now says 31 Dec 14. Surly this not an exceptable answer to just keep moving the date? We now have 2x 2.5MB lines for 8 employees in an area which has Infinity a street away in both directions? Can anyone share any light on this or even help? Thanks Iain

Is there a particular reason why you want to use BT Infinity? The latter is not the best telecom product, it's not future proof, and in many cases it's not suitable for business needs.

In fact, even though BT doesn't publicly admit it, it is not really interested in the business market. There are loads of business parks, industrial estates, and small towns without adequate telecom services from BT.

Take a look at this forum to see how incompetent BTs sales and support team have become, in our case BTnet hasn't even been able to provide us with a simple quote for requested telecom products.

Hi Guys,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with this,

First off let me assure you that BT does care about our business customers and the Business Market. We are at the moment in development of various apps, routers, and back end management in order to provide a better service for you.

As far as fibre provision goes BT has won the contract to place this, that means that we do the digging, but it is your local council who tell us where to dig. This link will let you choose your local area and see the plans on the government run website for your area.

This should give you a more accurate update on when this is expected.

Hope this helps

BT does care about our business customers and the Business Market

No offense, BT has clearly given us the opposite impression when we recently approached BTBusiness. Things like IPv6 or Annex-M for ADSL2+, let alone FTTP services, are not available from BT for most of the UK. and your sales team clearly made an unprofessional impression, leading us to the conclusion that BT has shifted its focus away from the business market. Many businesses who have a need to grow are forced to move offices because of the sheer lack of suitable telecom services, especially in smaller towns.

Thank you for the reply.

I have visit the site which goes off to 2 different sites.

The Hants gov website states
"Your area is covered by the privately funded rollout conducted by BT or Virgin. Superfast services should be available already. To view and compare some of the available services please visit the link below.
- See more at:... "

And on the BT site it states:

The Big Build

It can take up to 15 months from planning to go live to get an area ready for fibre.

So one site says we should have it already and the second says it takes up to 15 months to go live.

So 17 months later from the original date of saying it will be live it isn't?

So the your more accurate update says we should have compared to the 31st Dec 2014 date given by your own dsl checker?

So thanks Burkem, but no this hasn't helped and only made it worse to why we don't have it?

I think the time should be spent on actual having a good infrastructure and better internal communications than Primetime commercials apps etc.

EC-BAS

i had the same problem in my local area, the problem you have here is that you are on a forum for BT Business Broadband which have no way of pushing the fibre/infinity rollout to any specific area, the contract was won by BT openreach they are seperate from BT Retail the Service provider

the contract is being jointly run by the local council and BT Openreach so your best bet to try and get an area pushed for fibre is to contact your local MP who can push for you. and may be able to get some further update as to why this area is getting pushed back

you may find that its down to local planning (which was the cause in my area, the council was refusing permission for the installation of the cabinet)

Thansk

plumly
