BT Business Hub 5 - Can I setup multiple SSIDs on the Hub?

We have a BT Home Hub 5 on Infinity, I have setup remote APs (DLink) that are broadcasting the main SSID without error, my question is can I set up a second SSID on the Hub or do I need to purchase a different router?

Hi R1slayer,

with the Business hub5, if you unlink the 2.4 and 5Ghz wireless frequencies you will be able to rename the 2 SSID's but the 5Ghx frequency is quite a short range, you would be best in getting a different router that can do more that 1 SSID channel.

Thanks Mark, I have limited networking experience, what router would you recommend? Do I need to inform BT that I will be doing this?

Hi R1slayer,

I would not be able to reccommend a router, as we are only able to support the setup of BT one's, but you can go to your local computer store and ask them for advise.

You do not need to tell us if you change the router over to a non BT one, but you will need to contact the helpdesk as you will need your routers PPP username and password for when you setup the non BT router.
